Sebastián collaborates with CIDS as a researcher. His area of ​​research is the philosophy of law, area in which he combines elements of practical philosophy and social philosophy. More specifically, in recent years he has explored the interactions between contemporary agency theories, recognition theories, and normative theories of law. Since 2018, he has been developing the Fondecyt Initiation project “Legal relationships between strangers from a social theory of action” in which she studies the social configuration of legal relationships. Also among his areas of interest are the problems of exclusion and legitimation of authority in contemporary societies. Among the representative works of these lines of research are:
